Masayuki Uemura (Tokyo, 20 giugno 19436 dicembre 2021[1]) è stato un autore di videogiochi e ingegnere giapponese.

Biografia[modifica | modifica wikitesto]

Dopo essersi laureato al Chiba Institute of Technology[2] e aver lavorato presso la Sharp Corporation, entrò a far parte della Nintendo nei primi anni settanta,[3] lavorando con Gunpei Yokoi e Genyo Takeda sulla tecnologia delle celle solari.[4][5][6][7] Diventato manager di Nintendo R&D2, Uemura fu il principale artefice del Nintendo Entertainment System e del Super NES.[8][9][10][11][12][13] Uscì dalla Nintendo nel 2004 e divenne direttore del Center for Game Studies presso la Ritsumeikan University.[2][14]
