"The media is sick and needs help badly." - Tammy Fay Baker circa late 80's.
Most of the national media is lazy. Their idea of research is a Lexis/Nexis scan. Wasn't it Niger's dad who was on that infamous Geraldo show with the chair-throwing brawl?
Just some random thoughts.

2002-02-07 3:48:46 PM
those damn "atractive and sucesful african americans"

He has a good sense of humor.

2002-02-07 3:50:36 PM

2002-02-07 3:50:40 PM
But is he one ?

2002-02-07 3:51:27 PM
Shouldn't they have a spellchecker to auto-correct that to "African American Innis"?

2002-02-07 3:51:44 PM
*blink*

2002-02-07 3:51:49 PM
i wonder how many comments will be along these lines:

it was a mistake, i dont see whats wrong with that.

2002-02-07 3:52:25 PM
I love how the article refrains from actually printing the misspelling, just hinting and teasing:

The network on Monday aired an interview about the Enron case with Republican consultant Niger Innis. The onscreen graphic identifying Innis, who is black, had an extra ``g'' in his first name.

Hmm an extra g in the name Niger. GNiger? Nigerg? Nigegr?

2002-02-07 3:53:07 PM
Oh, God, I thought you guys thought I was a rapper or something,'' Innis replied. ``Media bias continues. Just kidding. It's not the first time it's happened, but hopefully it's the last.''
He is one funny motherfarker!!!

2002-02-07 3:53:36 PM
Thank God he had a sense of humor and isn't suing or anything.

2002-02-07 3:53:54 PM
If this is something that happens often, why wouldn't he just change his name?

2002-02-07 3:54:07 PM
Someone got their pink slip. Either that or they are demoted to custodian toilet duties.

2002-02-07 3:54:24 PM
So I figgure that this gguy understood why MSNBC did this after hearing the name of the correspondent Gregg Jarrett. I guess he thougght that Gregg always used 2 g's.....no?

2002-02-07 3:54:26 PM
If you were typing the name "Niger" for an onscreen graphic, wouldn't you take extra special care not to make a mistake?

2002-02-07 3:55:01 PM
Maybe it said G Niger, and they DID think he was a rapper.
Or, perhaps the terrorists have already won.

a) quick, someone call James Earl Ray/Jones
b) what kind of black (african American) parents would name their child Niger? that's worse than a boy named Sue.
c) good sense of humour on Mr Innis "I thought you guys thought I was a rapper or something"

2002-02-07 3:56:03 PM
They are lucky he isnt a liberal. The liberals would have MSNBC for lunch if he was.

2002-02-07 3:56:19 PM
Silent Observer: My mind reels at what suggestions my fellow Farkers will come up with for a name change. How about "Remus?"

2002-02-07 3:56:52 PM
People mis-spell my last name all the time. I honestly don't know where the problem lies.

2002-02-07 3:56:55 PM
And I'm sure the Caucasian male named, Mr. Whitney has the "n" in is name accidentally missingall when he appears on MSNBC...

That silly letter N!

Seriously, MSNBC...Could you fyck this up any worse?

SmookyFoo,

Please, dear sir, provide us with an intellectual treatise on racial harmony, the derogatory nature of what many classify as humor, and the oppression through the ages of the darker humans by the Europeans and their descendents.

This is a fine forum for that.

2002-02-07 4:04:43 PM
I guess I won't name my kid "Ashole"

2002-02-07 4:04:48 PM
What they don't mention is that after they added the extra G, they mixed the rest of the letters up, giving him the name "Ginger Innis".

2002-02-07 4:05:03 PM
He's a republican, where is the NewsMax article saying it's all Clinton's fault?

2002-02-07 4:05:36 PM
People screw up my first name all the time.

2002-02-07 4:08:15 PM
Loud applause for Mr. Innis. Too bad more people aren't as understanding.

2002-02-07 4:09:10 PM
I wonder what Jesse Jackson will have to say about this.

Then again, seeing as how this is "Republican consultant Niger Innis" we're talking about here, it'll probably be along the lines of "fark Niger Innis! Uncle Tom nubian!"

And for all the people who wonder "Who could name their child Niger?", I reply, "The same kind of people who could name their girl Vagina." (like Gina with a va- in front)

2002-02-07 4:09:46 PM
He does have a rapper name: It's poch money

2002-02-07 4:09:48 PM
